Graduating from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale gave me the education to fulfill my passion that I bring to my projects. Ria Gulian, ASID has a most diverse background when it comes to interiors. She has worked on projects such as custom and renovated homes, hospitality, medical, dental offices, yachts and commercial interiors. Ms. Gulian is the owner of Interior Designs by Ria, an Oceanport based interior design firm with a roster of satisfied clientele who applaud her design skills, her ability to listen, and her advocacy for the client in all phases of the project.
Her understanding of construction from the ground up is a result of long and successful working relationships with many area builders and architects. She has been involved in the selections of all interior specifications, from moldings to custom cabinetry. Her renovation projects have earned accolades from clients for her ability to create an environment conducive to family’s and staff’s needs.
Interior Designs by Ria has the expertise to complete a medical facility conducive to the operation needed for your specialty. Awareness of ADA requirements are just one of the areas of knowledge to complete an office that is functional and addresses the needs of both the stage and patients. Interior Designs by Ria has expertise in the dental field and works as a team player in conjunction with the builder and dental company. Team effort is an important process in the coordination of the scope of services needed to complete the design program. We also work as an independent design firm to specify and select products conducive to the special needs of your practice. Purchasing is an option for furnishings, window treatments, artwork and accessories. Projects completed have been in the NY/NJ area. References are available upon request.

Ms. Gulian is a professional member of ASID. Her association with the organization began while studying interior design at the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale. She started its first ASID Student Chapter and served as president. This experience fostered an ongoing commitment to mentoring interior design students. Ria is on the advisory committee for the interior design program at Brookdale Community College and has also served on the advisory committed for Tufenkian Tibetan Carpets in New York City. She has served the NJ ASID Chapter as Board Member, Treasurer and President (2001-2002). She is also a licensed interior designer in the state of Florida.
Ria is an NCIDQ-certified interior designer since 1983. She has participated in area show houses, including the 1998 “Grand View” Show House (The Wiedeke Estate/Bayville) which earned her a Bronze Award for Design Excellence from the New Jersey Chapter of ASID. Gold, silver and bronze awards were also won for categories such as Whole House Over 5,ooo Sq FT, Showhouse, Kitchen, Public Spaces and Residential Bath. Ria collaborated with the architect and builder on a custom home, located on the Toms River, that was on a public house tour for the “White Pine Twig Community Medical Center/” Ria has been nominated to the “Alumni Wall of Fame” at her alma mater. The Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale, for her leadership accomplishments in the interior design field. Other show houses include the 1997 “Celebration of Broadway” (West Long Branch), and the 1995 “Grand View Show House” (Holmdel). Her work has appeared in many publications, including House Beautiful, New Jersey Monthly, Design New Jersey, New Jersey Countryside, Elegance by Design, New York Spaces, New Jersey Savy, Monmouth Health and Life, The Asbury Park Press, Star Ledger and Elegant Lifestyles Magazine.
